Thanks to Keith Peddie, we wound up NOT making a thirty year
mistake. The house we were interested in had almost twenty
thousand dollars worth of repairs not visible to us or the seller...had
we bought the house, we would have had to spend that money before we

Friday, June 13, 20035:12 PM House Inspection
Dear Keith:
Yes, we bought the house at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Stokesdale. This was after the seller corrected a couple of problem areas that you identified. One was the front wall where the sewer pipe went through was not sealed
around the pipe allowing ground water to seep into the crawl space.(it was sealed) The other was. an incorrectly installed French Drain. A new one was installed all along the inside of the foundation in the front and side of the house, along with an automatic sump pump. Now, under the house is completely dry, even during this past wet spell. Thanks for an excellent inspection.
If I come in contact with someone needing a house inspector, I will recommend

Mr. Peddie provided a thorough and excellent inspection of the home.
In addition to doing an excellent job on the details of the inspection
and on the subsequent report, he was willing to answer my many questions
along the way. The process that he has set up to get pre-inspection
paperwork made it very simple to move forward with the project. I needed
an inspection done ASAP due to the nature of the circumstances, and
Mr. Peddie accommodated my request without hesitation.
He was a delightful person to work with and I would highly recommend
him to anyone who wants to get an expert to do the job. And, I might
add, that I am a picky person who has high expectations! I found it
very helpful to have some reading material to review before the inspection,
and got a copy of his book to boot! Having this information ahead of
time helped me to feel prepared for the inspection.
